| Luang Prabang 6 Days Day1. Arrival - Luang Prabang Meet upon arrival, you are welcome to Luang Prabang, the ancient first capital of Lane Xang kingdom, the center of religious life in Laos and today the World Heritage City. Transfer to our hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, we take a sightseeing tour of the sacred city of temples, of which nearly fifty temples still remain in the town and surrounding areas. Visit Wat Visoun, the 16th century temple served as a small museum for religious artifacts; Wat Aham, the early 19th century temple, whose two guardian figures at the foot of the steps which represent two characters from the Ramayana - Hanuman, the Monkey God and a fierce Yaksa; Wat Xiengthong, the 16th century temple which, more than any temples in Luang Prabang, epitomizes all the elegance and grace of Luang Prabang architecture; Phousi Hill, the 328 steps leads to the summit of Phousi hill that dominates the sky-line of Luang Prabang overlooking the finest panoramic view in the whole Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang (Trekking) - Kuangsi Waterfall Breakfast, we begin to drive to upland country through beautiful scenic views to visit Ban Long Laoh, a small Hmong hill tribe village, probably the best-known hill tribe in Laos. Begin to trek about 3 hrs through beautiful lushly forested area and also rice fields to Kuangsi Waterfall, which though not very high, but it is spectacular and really beautiful with its green surroundings as the national protected forest area. We enjoy our a picnic lunch in the shady park nearby Kuangsi Waterfall, where there is a plenty of time for relaxing and a swim in the cool water before we drive back to Luang Prabang. After arriving in Luang Prabang, we continue to drive outskirt of town to visit Ban Xangkhong, a well-known village for its wood paper making and also Lao silk weavings with natural dyes. Luang Prabang - Muang Ngoi (Kayaking On Nam Ou River) Breakfast at hotel, we visit the National Museum, the former Royal Palace which houses the collection of valuables including the famous Prabang Buddha statue, gifts received from foreign dignitaries…etc. We take an excursion by road (about 3hrs) to NongKhiao, the boat landing village, then take a boat (45 minutes) upstream on the Nam Ou river to get to Mouang Ngoi village, a very peaceful village on the left bank of Nam Ou river, which surrounded by beautiful range of mountains and also high cliffs. Lunch is at local restaurant along the way. The afternoon is spent exploring the highlights of this scenic area by boat (1hr) and visit ethnic village of Khmu on the riverside. Begin to kayak back to Muang Ngoi pasting the base of stunning karsts limestone Mountains through fun rapids. Dinner is free on own Meals: B, L Transport: Private air conditioned, Boat, Kayak. Muang Ngoi (Trekking) Breakfast, We begin to have one of the highlights of the trip is to trek through pristine environments of the unspoiled forested areas including to explore natural caves, which was home of the villagers during the war (1960-1972) as well as beautiful small waterfalls where there is a plenty of time for relaxing and swimming in the cool water before you will visit more ethnic villages of Khmu and also Low land Lao where you will learn more rural life of these fascinating people. We stop for our picnic lunch under the shady tree along the way. We get back to our hotel in the late afternoon, and spend some free time to explore this charming village with very nice people. Dinner is free on own. Meals: B, L. Transport: Private air-conditioned, foot. Accommodation: Guesthouse. Day5. Muang Ngoi - Pak Ou - Luang Prabang Early breakfast, we take a boat trip downstream on Nam Ou river to Luang Prabang, on the way, photo-stops can be made and also for relaxing to see more ethnic villages. We stop to visit Pak Ou cave in the side of a lime stone cliff and opposite of the mouth of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers. The sanctuaries at Pak Ou consist of two large caves, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images, which range from mere centimeter to two meters in height. After the Pak Ou cave, we have lunch at a riverside restaurant at Ban Pak Ou, a nice village opposite of Pak Ou cave at the confluence of Nam Ou and Mekong rivers. We take our car there to drive back to Luang Prabang, and we en route stop to visit Ban Xangkhong, the well known village for its wood paper-making and also Lao silk weavings with natural dyes. Luang Prabang - Departure Breakfast at hotel, this morning is spent free leisure until for your own shopping or strolling through this ancient city, before being transferred to Luang Prabang airport for departure to next destination.
